Hello Forum,
Beginning an archiving effort soon. Reading through the training materials and could use a sample project plan to help jump start. Does anyone have one that they can share? Using release 4.6c. Please let me know. Thanks very much
Mike
Hi Michael,
You can use the following phases to begin with preparing the project plan:
Phase I: Analysis
Defining the archiving objects
Identify dependencies
Defining the residence time
Identifying the organizational level at which archiving is to be performed (Controlling Area, Company Code, Plants etc.)
Phase II: Design and Conception
Specifying the archiving sequence
Analyze storage requirements
Archiving of Customer defined tables
Phase III: Implementation and Going live
Customizing
Logical filenames and paths
Application-specific Customizing, such as setting the residence time
Archiving object-specific Customizing
Pilot phase testing: Testing under realistic conditions
Creating a procedure description for
Accessing archived data objects
Executing archiving (job control)
Phase IV: Go-live support

Kaushik.
