As of Release 7.0 (NetWeaver 7.0/2004s):

-> go to RZ10

-> select default profile and go for extended maintenance.

->Before creating the client, Parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar should be set to 1.

(previously 0, now 1(from ECC)). then only SAP* user will be created while creating new client. and you will be able to logon to new client with sap* ans password = pass

Hi Rajendran,

1. Create the client and fill other information using SCC4 (provided you have proper authorization).

2. Logon to newly created client using user ID SAP* and password PASS.

3. Choose the profile and source client that you want to use for you new client in SCCL tcode.

4. Perform test run to check everything will be OK also check the tablespace before starting the actual client copy.

so you can see that in this procedure you dont need sap* access while creating the client but when you login to new client you already have access to sap* user as pass is the default password when client is empty.

Hope this will help.
