Hi
In what way these two types of testing in XI are different ??
1. Log on to ID...>Tools -> Test Configuration.
2.Log into your Runtime Workbench - Component Monitoring
- choose Integration Engine....> Test Message Tab.
Thanks
Kumar
2. Is used to test your mappings. This can be done even in IR. It is basically posting the data directly to the pipeline.

hi palnati,
when u test a message using component monitoring in RWB, u specify the pipeline url n send the "message to pipeline". then u can see the entry of this msg n monitor its flow thru XI. here a message is actually sent to XI although directly to the pipeline.
when u test using ID u r "only" testing whether ur ID n IR objects are working properly or not. that is u can test the complete scenario (IR and ID) objects. no message is actually sent through XI.

Hi Kumar !
Via RWB you are actually sending the message, and It will pass thru the Integration Engine and could be monitored via SXMB_MONI transaction and other queries within RWB. You can also simulate the sender client.
Via Test Configuration, you are not sending a real message, you are just testing the defined integration directory objects and their relationship.

Matias
