Make some free space under /usr/sap<SID> and delete unused SPAM/SAINT files

Hello!

I have currently problems with the free space on all the drives (OS: Windows 2003 Server).

First of all I would like to consider the SAPEXE-drive (usr/sap/<SID>)

My questions are:

- How to delete unused SPAM/SAINT-packages (I guess from tcode SPAM?)

- Which files else (e.g. logs) can be deleted in order to make some free space?

Thank you very much indeed!

regards

Thom

Thom,

The files under /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in are good candidates for deletion. You can check the contents of this directory against the imported package queue in SPAM (for your production system) to see which ones can be eliminated.

Hope that helps.

Hi!

Thank you very much for your response!

Do you also know how to do this semi-automatically by SAP-transaction code (I guess from tcode SPAM)?

Thank you!

Hi Thom,

I don't think there is any way to delete those files in /EPS/in via SPAM.

Hi Thom,

In addition to what was written see SAP [Note 16513 - File system is full - what do I do?|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=16513;nlang=EN&smpsrv=https%3a%2f%2fwebsmp206%2esap-ag%2ede] - for more guidelines on how to free up disk space

Also,

You could free up some free space by removing / compressing log files in the usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<Instance Num>/work directory.

You can safely compress/remove all *.old files (although I always suggest compressing).
