What are SAp Extension sets??

Hi all,

I'm doing a research about customizing in SAP and I've learnt about BC sets and their limitations. But...what are the Extension sets?? Are only predefined sets or can be created as the BC sets?? Are they similar to the BC sets??

Could anyone please give me some clue about them or provide me a link to this information??

Hi,

BC sets and Extension sets have nothing in common.

A BC set is a set of technical customisings as you said.

An extension set is a set of functional activities that you can activate with SPRO.

For exemple SAP R/3 4.70 has 2 releases of extension sets : 4.70 ext 1.10 and 4.70 ext 2.00.

So you cannot create an extension set with workbench customizing for example and activate it in SAP, can you? They are a kind of a standard.

Yes, you are right : SAP Extension sets are standard. You cannot create one.

Updating from R/3 4.7 ext 1.10 to R/3 4.7 ext 2.00 is an R/3 upgrade using R3UP.
