HI all,

how can we link two repositories in MDM.we have "vendor" and " items" repositories and now we want to link these two (For ex : say which all material is supplied by a vendor)

what are the different options for doing this? does MDM offers some standard functionality for the same?

Thanks in advance

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

Eventing can be used to create interaction between iViews even though they are assigned to different repositories and different tables. Two such scenarios

1)Interaction between a Result Set iView and an Item Details iView

2)Interaction between two Result Set iViews

For fetails regarding this you could refer to this URL:

hi,

Interlinking of repositories, This funcationality you will get in next releases.

1.The next major release will be SAP NetWeaver MDM 7.1 scheduled for Q3 2008 (ramp-up)

2. A significant extension of the MDM data modeling capabilities will be accomplished through introducing the concept of multiple main tables per repository.

This will allow different master data objects such as vendor and material residing in the same repository. In addition, this will also provide mechanisms to relate records of different main tables. For example, vendors could be linked to the particular materials they supply. What is more, these meta-model extensions will provide an additional modeling alternative for complex structures which today are handled via qualified look-up tables.

hope this may help you,

Hi Ravi,

In MDM it is not possible to link two repositories i.e. two repositories can never interact with each other .
