hi,

inTOR, in search procedure of requirement type , if system has to search first or directly to item category plus mrp type instead of starting search from strategy group in mrp3 view ,thenmrp group in mrp1view, then material type. what changes we can do to the system please reply asap

Hi,

If you do not want strategy group of the material master to dtermine requirement type, why maintain the strategy group. In that case MRP ype and material type will determine the requirement type. Another option would be to use schdule line category.

I quote below from SAP Note:547277 which describes various otions:

Quote begins:

"Which settings determine if a requirements class is found and which requirements class is found, if any?

Answer:

The following methods of finding a requirements class are available:

1. The material type is used to determine an MRP group. The MRP group determines the strategy (see Transactions OPPR and OPPU).

2. In the material master, you can also continue to maintain an MRP group. In this case, the strategy is not determined by the MRP group of the material type, but by the MRP group in the material master (see Transactions MM02, OPPR, and OPPU).

3. Independent of this, a main strategy is assigned to a strategy group (see Transactions OPPT and OPPS).

4. The requirements type is determined by the item category and the MRP type (see Transaction OVZI). The requirements class is determined by the requirements type (see Transaction OVZH).

Comment: The sales document type and item category group also take effect here, as they define the item category (see Transaction VOV4).

Furthermore, Customizing Transaction OVZI is used to define how the requirements class is determined (see the F4 help in Transaction OVZI).

For your information:

In all cases, you can deactivate the transfer of requirements at the schedule line category (the schedule line category overrides the requirements class, see Transaction VOV6).
