Stupid question about WebAS6.40 Java architecture

Hi!

I installed my first straightforward WebAS6.40 Java standalone system.

This created two instance, sort of, called SCS42 and JC40.

The SCS seems to be different from your standard central instance in the ABAP world and the JC40 seems to be a dialog and central instance or am I mistaken?

If I upgrade to SP13: Do I only run the update of the central sytem or also do one afterwards for a dialog instance? Is JC40 my only instance or is it an addisional dialog instance?

Thanks!

It's called a Java instance, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/ea2d42de605233e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

It's the only one.

Hope it helps
