How to install patches ( .CAR ) files

Hi,

I've installed the SAP WebAS that came free with the reference manual.

I've now downloaded 50 odd patches but can't find any instructions on how to install them.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi Simon,

what Patches have you downloaded? SAP Kernel Patches or ABA and BASIS Patches? .CAR Files can be extracted with SAPCAR. Kernel Patches must be extracted to C:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe and its subdirectories. But take backups of your original files. Before Kernel updates you have to shutdown the Web AS instance.

ABA and BASIS Patches into the Transport Folder C:\usr\sap\trans. Then you can install them via SPAM
