How to give production orders for BOM main items

Dear Masters,

As per the requirement, we have to generate a Production order for BOM main items.

How can we generate a production for BOM main items.

please help me to resolve this issue, your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Hello Mr. Raghu,

Assuming that your requirement is of MTO scenario, with-

1) Suppose the sub items are procured and not manufactured.

2) The main item is assembled together and sold.

The BOM for SD and PP will be similar.

In the material master the sub items will have External Procurement indicator set in MRP1 screen, where as Main item will have In house production indicator set.

The strategy to be set in MRP 3 screen is 20.

Since it is a MTO scenario a Production order will be generated as soon as you save the order. It can be checked by the Tcode MD04. After that the MRP is run by the Tcode MD02. If the material is available then the sales order will get converted to planned order and the further Production process will be performed.
