J2EE engine dont startup

Hi

I am installin the SAP NW 2004S SR2 and selected to install the

ABAP Engine

JAVA Engine

EP CORE

EP

PI , every thing goes fine out of 96 steps at step 36 the java engine wont startup and

second thing when i tried to stop and restart the installation ( resume it ) the ABAP engine wont even start up

DISP+WORK.EXE is not working , it says the message server not running and java unknown , when i looked at console it says message server connected and ok , but java status is unkown ,

Some body pls help me

Check the environement vairable of Java.

Check the logs mentioned in SAP note 752505 to find possible problems during the installation which may prevent the system to start.

Inside the /work directory of the instance you should also find the logs for the start. Please check if there is any error in the dev_jcontrol log (for java stack) or dev_w* files.

Check the logfiles dev_bootstrap, dev_jcontrol and stdServer.out

For the ABAP part check dev_disp, dev_w0.
