HI,

You just need to trigger an IDOC for R3 using the transaction WE19 and check the message in SXMB_MONI at the reciever end u r using file reciever adapter so u must have given the target directory and file name in the file receiver adapter.

IDOC testing using WE19 select outbound tab.

hi all,

can someone please tell me that do we specify our port created in idx1 somewhere in Integration directory?

Hi Saras,

For IDOC- File we dont use the port specified anywhere in ID.

But for File-IDoc we would specify the port in IDoc receiver adapter.

No, you will not specify it anywhere in ID.

Since your scenario is IDoc to File and therefore File adapter will be used in your receiver CC to receive the idoc xml. Morever there will be no Sender CC for IDOC coz it resides on ABAP stack.

where do we specify port incase of file to idoc scenario?

In ID, under Receiver CC chose IDoc adapter and specify the port under port option. You have to also specify the RFC destination which will point to R/3 system. This RFC and port will be created into XI system.

In the sender side mention the logical system name of ur R3 system, the R3 port (this is normally SAP<SID>) and partner type as LS

Asuming that u have created a partner profile for XI system in ur R3 system,

In the receiver side mention the logical system name of ur XI system, the XI port (you can get it from the partner profile) and the partner type as LS

Also mention the idoc message type.(Make sure there is an entry for this message type in outbound parameters in your partner profile)

Thanks,

Saras,

You are asking about control records, right?

At Receiver end enter

Port (this is the port which will point to XI)

Partner No

Partner Type

Similarly make the entries at Sender end.

HI Saras,

Just go to We20 partner profile transaction there u will find logical system under that LS u will find the LS created for XI and R3 just take the value from there only.

Refer the weblog as well for more detail.

my query is that where the port will point(will it again point frm r/3 to xi and it ll be created in r/3 only?) that I ll put in sender side

Ok let me explain.

If you are calling one of your friend then you should have his/her number right. It is not necessary that he/she will alos have your number.

Same is here. You (R/3) are calling (your frnd) XI so in R/3 you should maintain the port & RFC and which will point to XI.

I hope now it is clear.

HI Saras,

As correctly said by sarvesh.

These are the steps which is required for configuration in R3.

1) Maintain Logical System (SALE) for PI

2) Assign client to LS.

3) Define RFC Destination (SM59) which points to PI system

4) Maintain Port (WE21)

5) Maintain partner profile. (WE20):

6) Maintain Distribution Model (BD64):

And ur configuration is done at R3 end.Hope now u r clear with ur doubts.

Thnx

Hello Saras,

Since yours is a Idoc to File scenario, you will be sending an Idoc from the R/3 system to XI and then the XI will create a file after the mapping et al.

To test such a scenario:

1. Goto WE02 and give your Idoc Message / basic type so that you get an existing Idoc with filled data.

2. Now goto WE19 and use the existing Idoc number to trigger a new Idoc.

3. Note that you will have to change the receiver system to point to your XI system.

4. Once Idoc is triggered, you can monitor your scenario in RWB or SXMB_MONI.

5. If successful a file will be created at the directory location mentioned in your Receiver File Adapter.

6. If unsuccessful, you can trouble to find out where exactly to the scenario failed.

This should solve your query.

Please reward points and close this question if deemed so.

Regards.
