Disadvantages of heterogeneous environment

Hi Friends,

We have heterogeneous environment in our company and I wanted to bring all the systems in the homogeneous landscape. i.e. change my development system from hp-unix plateform to IBM AIX. To convince my superiors I need some strong disadvantes points on heterogeneous landscape.

So pls send me some strong points so that I can convice my people to switch to IBM plateform.

Hi Lalit

Obvious:

- if you have to support to different plattforms at the same time, you will need either more skilled people, or more people (hp-ux experts, aix experts).

- it is possible that you will have to support different databases (oracle vs. db2) and different SAP kernel versions. This means more work for your DBA and SAP Basis people.

Its simple .

1) More Vendor for diffrent tehnology and diff maintaence cost

2) Diff technical skiilled resources required which is directly propotional to more more cost

3)More disadvantage during system copy if is hetrogeneous env
