Hi,

This service is not "very important" at this stage.

it can be stopped and it has no influence on 10g.

If Oracle is NOT starting you have to search the cause in other area.

Please, check

- Other oracle services ( are they started? )

- Oracle Alert log

Your database has not been properly upgraded.

Have you follow properly the upgrade guide?

We had followed the upgrade guide to each n every step. But it is giving the error. Is there any solution to this problem. Can we make any changes to make it work.

I didnot understand the log information, can u explain where is the exact error where we went wrong.

Hi,

I cannot explain what went wrong.

The error indicate that the upgrade is not finished or an error happened during the upgrade.

Please, review the alert log and the upgrade logs.

There are some possibilities:

- First one is to finish the upgrade to Oracle 10.2 manually. Please, check the Metalink notes:

Note 316889.1 - Complete checklist for manual upgrades to 10gR2

Note:420146.1 - What is the Best Way to Upgrade to 10g?

- Second option is to restore the database to a point before the upgrade. In this case, you have to use the Oracle 9.2 software as well and need to restart the upgrade from the beginning.

There is a readme.htm. you can see that:

Upgrading a Release 10.2 Database using Oracle Database Upgrade Assistant

If you do not run the Oracle Database Upgrade Assistant as described in this section, then the following errors are displayed:

ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated.

ORA-39700: database must be opened with UPGRADE option.

$ lsnrctl start

Run dbua

HI,

If the Oracle scripts for setting up Oracle DDICs have not been executed

correctly, you might face this problem.

Please check SAP note 582427, hope this will help you.
