MDM Catalog 2 question - install v1 and then upgrade to v2?

Good Morning Experts,

I am somewhat confused by the MDM Catalog 2 documentation and was curious about how to install MDM Catalog 2. We are doing an upgrade from SRM 3 (w/EBP 4) to SRM 5.0 with SRM Server 5.5. We will be replacing Bugseye/Emerge with MDM Catalog and wanted to go with v2.

My question is this: must I first insall MDM Catalog 1 and then upgrade to 2? Or can I just install MDM Catalog 2?
