Error while distributing GOA to backend R3 4.6b system

Hi All,

We are using SRM5.0 for creating GOA for material & distributing it to Backend system R3 4.6b as a contract .

The IDOC in R3 is under error -"Item category does not exist."

The item categories are defined in backend system.

Pls suggest .

Hi Atul,

Thanks for immediate response. I maintained combination of Item category W & account assignment category as Blank in backend , still the error remains.

I am creating GOA for material with item category as Normal Category & distrbuting it to one purchasing org as a contract.

What account assignment category are you using in this case ?

The account assignment is U only for text items. In case material record driven line items are transferred, the account category is blank, like you expect.

A GOA can only be distributed for each Backend System, and within one document is create for each combination of POrg and CompCode. This only works when you have POrgs arranged within Company Codes and not accross Company Codes. If the later is the case, only one document is created.

More than one document is only possible via development by programming method MODIFY_DATA_CTR of BAdI BBP_CTR in R/3.
