Hi,
I am working on the File to IDoc scenario. I have configured an FTP server in the local machine as specified in the blog https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/4120. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
But in the communication channel monitoring i am getting the error as "Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server "10.201.140.161:21": java.net.SocketException: Connection timed out:could be due to invalid address".
"Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server "10.201.140.161:21": java.net.ConnectException: Socket connection timed out: 10.201.140.161:21"
How to resolve this issue?
Regards
Sowmya
check this in explorer or using ftp client and c if it works
ftp://10.201.140.161
if this is successful then c if a firewall is preventing the access

Hi Sowmya,
Are you using the ftp server given in the blog(GuildFtp) ?
If yes, then after putting file in source folder check in ftp server control screen that whether the user specified in Comm. channel is logging in to the ftp.
If not then check his credentials in the CC. and the access rights of the folder.
Follow this approach.
I faced the same error and I had given wrong credentials.
I am also using the same GuildFTP.
It works fine.
Please revert back in case of further issues.
Regards,
Sumit

Hi Sowmya,
First check whether u can ping the ftp server from ur XI system. And also check the authorization of the user for the FTP server.
