Netweaver Developer Workplace need a license?

I installed the one with maxDB to depoy and test webdynpro application at my desktop.

Why SAP is asking for a license for developer edition.

If I install the preview release fromSDN, it is not nw04s SP 11. Our production system is at this level.

I need to write code and test it on the same version.

Do i have to apply for a license key as a normal SAP portal license. Does SAP charge heavily for this.

I need to answer these questions to the management.

Hi Periasamy

Yes you have to apply license to Netweaver Developer Workplace, it is just like a Java stack.

Visual administrator > server > services > licensing Adapter.

SAP doesnot impose for this.

Hello Martin,

Once you log into Visual Admin.->Server -> Services -> Licensing Adapter you will see a Hardware key ....give that hardware key to a basis guy who can request the license along with your system name ...once he makes a request for it ..it will be automatically generated and sent back in the form of a .txt file ...then go again to the Visual Admin. and import this file..
