Hi,
i'm installing 64bit SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SR3 on Windows/oracle.
While setting the master password in sapinstgui i'm getting an input error.
The master password you entered is not valid.
SOLUTION: The master password has to comply with the following requirements:

Basic password policy:

Has to be 8 to 14 characters long

Must contain at least one letter (a-z, A-Z)

Must contain at least one digit (0-9)

Invalid characters are \ (backslash) and " (double quote)

MaxDB-specific restrictions:

Must be 8 to 9 characters long

Must not begin with a digit

Valid characters are @, _, #, $, a-z, A-Z, 0-9

But the password comply with the basic password requirements.
I had to choose a password starting with a digit.
--> the requirement for maxdb is no digit as first sign. Is this also relevant for other installations?
I need a workaround to continue my installation.
regards
Mathias

Hi,
This is a workaround for this issue.
Use any password during the "Master Password Entry", so that the installation can continue, then use the "REVISE" button before starting the installation processes.
Best regards,
Chance
