Plant determination in sale order

Regarding the plant determination in the sale order, is it normal that if the material for the customer location is marked for deletion that the system do not check for the plant in the material master sale org plant ?

Right now we have a case where if for product A location B the product is marked for deletion but it is not for location C.

When we enter a sale order for customer X where the plant is B, the system is not trying to check for location C which is maintained in material master...is it normal behavior?

hi

check if may cutomer material info record exists.

the preference is

customer material info record,

customer master and then

material master

Hi Genevieve,

As per your explanation SAP would pick the Plant from Material.

Even If the material is marked for deletion, the system would pick the Plant from Material Master, if the Plant is not specified in Customer info Record and Customer Master.

In Standard SAP the Plant is determined as per the below priority, unless and until a user exit is used to over ride it.

1. Customer-Material Info Record.

2. Customer Master.

3 Material Master.

Check whether plant is maintained in the above Data records.

Thanks for the explanation but if one of the combinaison is marked for deletion do you think the system should look at the next level.

1. Customer-Material Info Record. (do not exist)

2. Customer Master. (plant/material combinaison is mark for deletion)

3 Material Master. (exist and combinaison not mark for deletion)

In our case do you think the system should give the plant at level 3 since level 2 is mark for deletion?

Hi

There is nothing called Plant/material combination in Customer master.

In customer master, there is a field called Delivering plant, which is applicable for all materials.

Deleting only this field, while maintaining other data for sales area is not possible if this field is not disabled.

Either sales area data needs to be deleted or the field needs to be disabled.

if the field is disabled, it is obvious that the plant is determined from MMR
