give 4 prerequisites ,when we used source as sap and target as nonsap....means wat we consider if scenario is like that....iterview question.

Best way of gethering requirment of interfaces is to have XI questionnarie prepared with list of questions like

1. Who is the SME or Business Owner identified for the Interface and what are the contact details?

2. What is the AS IS Business Process?

3. What is the TO BE Business Process?

4. What is the deliverable phase/Time for the interface?

5. What is the functional purpose and summary of the business need for the Interface?

6. What are the points to be considered ‘in scope’ and ‘out of scope’ of the interface?

7. What are points to be considered as assumptions?

8. Is there any dependency or constraint with respect to systems or interface?

9. What are the export and import capabilities/constraints of source and target system?

10. What is the structure and type of data coming from source system?

11. What is the structure and type of data that target system understands and accepts?

12. Do we have any sample data of source and target systems available?

13. What is the Data Flow Logic for the interface?

14. What are mapping and conversion rules for the source and target data?

15. What would be processing mode of the interface- Synchronous or Asynchronous?

16. Do we need to capture any error at interface level? If yes, what kind of error should we capture?

17. What would be the Data Flow Logic in case of interface error situation?

18. What information do we need send in error message to support team in case some interface error occurs?

19. In what form e.g. Alerts, Emails, file etc do we need to send error message in case some interface error occurs?

20. What is the frequency and timing of data flow between the systems? E.g. Real time, in batch

21. What would the message size and volume of data flow between the systems?

22. What would be the business peak time for the interface?

23. Is there any special security requirement for the interface?

24. Is there any special requirement with respect to performance of the interface?

If you have answer for these question , then you will be in a position to start XI developmemt.
