configuring NWDS

HI

I have installed NWDS 7.1 I am trying to configure it with the J2EE engine...In doing so it is asking for Instance Host and Instance number..

I have given the ip address of the ep server in place of Instance Host and For instance number i have given the instance number

I see the following error message being displayed

"Sap Instance Host is not currently reachable"

But if I Ping to the ip address of the EP server Its working good...

Immediate help will be appreciated

Hi ,

I think it's because of wrong hostname and port your giving there. even I tried with by giving wrong hostname and got the same error.but when I give correct IPaddress and port , it's working for me.

check whether you have a permission to use network path to the machine(or machine name) if it is remote one.

If it is local one, try giving machine(localhost) name rather IP address and correct JC instance.

It should solve the problEM

Can you explain in detail what you are trying to do. Which application you are trying to create.

Are you trying to import a model for Web Dynpro application.
