In MDM we are taking data out of different source systems
we are consolidating , harmonizing and centrally maintaing the data and also providing the PCM facilities and finally we are again sending back the data for analysis ?Is it possible that all the above operations can be done without taking data-out of the system and have the same functionalities?
Lakshmikanth,
we are taking about different kinds of systems maintaining the same data in different formats / descriptions etc etc. How can you consolidate the data without putting the data in one place?
Please state the question more clearly.

Hi Ravi
Thanks ravi for ur quick reply,All i want to know is rather taking the data out of the systems and then comparing records .Deploying a software on the Systems(eg : Anti-Virus) which would result in erradication of duplicates,Normalised and Clean data by further transferring the data to SAP-BIW for de- duplication and further Analysis.
Lakshmikanth,
Think about it, it might not make sense to normalize the data in different systems.
If we do that and if some other system has to refer to this data where should it refer that. Although we consolidate the we will still retain the keys as it was being maintained previously in all the application systems.

Ravi
