'10.10.0.10:sapdp00' not reached....

Hi All,

I have installed the latest SAP Netweaver 2004s SP12 ABAP trial on my desktop PC. I have also installed then loopback adapter with the IP address being set to 10.10.0.10. Also I have edited the hosts file to contain the second ip address as 10.10.0.10 umadevi, where umadevi is the computer name. this file also contains another entry 127.0.0.0 localhost.

I have successfully installed the SAP MMC and Log on Pad.

When I click the logon button selecting the NSP system, I always get '10.10.0.10:sapdp00' not reached....

kindly let me know if I am missing something here.

Thanks..

Preetham S

Hi Preetam ,

Can you check these parameters

1. Can you ping to the IP and the R/3 port number dispatcher or Message Server.

2. Use the command from Start > run

sapgui 10.10.10.10 <nr>

Thanks

Hi,

When I follow the steps below as mentioned, I still get the same error. One more thing I observed is that, in the SAP MMC there is only one process msg_server.exe. I dont see disp+work.exe. Is this normal ???

Thanks..

Hi Preetam

this is not normal.

you had better try installing only the Central instance once again.

hope this helps

In my case i can see the Dispatcher line, but it is grey color, not activated.

I don't know why.

My computer name is HOME, so in the system32\drivers\etc\hosts file i put the following lines :

127.0.0.1 localhost

10.10.0.10 HOME

Correct ?

Hi All,

During installation I did a mistake where I changed the name of the folder from <install_drive>:\SAP to <install_drive>:\SAP_ABAP. Due to this most of the components were not installed properly. Now I reinstalled in a different drive with <install_drive>:\SAP and the SAP was up and running out-of-the-box without even having to make changes to host and services file again.

This is actually strange as to why the installer did not take the change of folder name.

Thanks...

Hi preetam

1. Check in etc/Services file for the entry

sapdp00 3200/tcp

2. Try to access using the command from Start > run

sapgui 10.10.10.10 <nr>

eg: nr = 00.

hope this helps
