Hi Rohit,

Where is the RFC pointing to?

Usually when you get a message like "service 'sapgw53' unknown is because sapgw53 is not registred in the services file.

Please add a bit more info and check the services file.

Hi Juan,

Actually I am creating RFC for the IDOC-to-IDOC between two systems. On one system I have created RFC connection (Destination) pointing to this server which is working fine. But when I am creating RFC on this system pointing to the other system it is throwing this error.

Also Pl. let me know how can I check the service file for the entry and if not found how can I create that bcos I don't hv access to the OS (HP UX) on which I am creating the RFC connection.

Thanx and Regards,

Rohit

Hi Rohit,

If you don't have access to the OS, you need to tell you Unix administrator to check and/or enter the line mentioned above

sapgw53 3353/tcp

to the services file located at /etc/services using vi

rohit baba do not worry do one thing just login ur server and give tcode SMGW

there u can find ur gate service no like sapgwXX (xx= instance no). use that one. as i understood from ur problem, or just when u are using this sm59 there is an option for gateway service just give sapgw01.

if the instance no is 01

hope it will work

award points if it will work

Hi,

You have to insert this line:

sapgw53 3353/tcp

to file 'services'

You will find this file in:

Windows: <drive:>\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

Unix: /etc/

Marcin
