Is it possible to plan network activities in specific periods based on
the specific dates which are input as per Workforce Planning to
override the Basic Start and Finish dates on the Activity? For
example,
A network activity has a start date on Oct 1 and an end date of Nov
30. Thus this activity spans two periods.
6 hours of work are planned at 10 pounds per hour resulting in £60 plan
value.
In Workforce Planning, 5 hours are planned in October, and 1 hour is
planned in November.
Can the system be configured to use the weight of hours planned in each
period to form the basis of the planning resulting in £50 plan in
October and £10 plan in November? Currently, I cannot find a way to
influence this via standard configuration for PS, Workcenters, etc.
Distribution keys seem limited in that they are based on percentages only and there doesn't appear to be a setting to use actual date planning to drive the calculations.
I have heard that there is functionality for products such as XPM or
cProjects that may have enhancements in this area which could prove
useful if there is no standard config in ERP to influence this.
Thanks,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
The best way would be to create your own distribution key and use it.
Go to KP80 and create User Defined==> Independent key
Input the factor for all relavant periods:
In your case:
Period (for Calander yr) Factor
10 5
11 6
