XI needs a Database

Former Member

Hi experts,

I am writing a diploma-thesis regarding load-testing on XI.

To my knowledge, XI will need a database for e.g. persistency management or archiving messages. Therefore XI won't work without a database...

I am looking for an official SAP document, which exactly says this...

I hope you can provide me such a document.

Thanks and Regrads,

Sebastian

Hi,

ok, this helps. But will there be an official document, where I can see this. It's not that I do not believe you

I have to have a reference for this statement for formal reasons...

Thanks and Regards,

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Please go through the XI installation guide.

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a5550de0-0701-0010-a8b4-9fd433a0... (official document)

Unicode SAP Web AS ABAP + Java system is prerequisite for core SAP XI. (Page 16)

So XI seats on SAP Web AS and SAP Web AS seats on Database.

Hope this will help.
