Dear all,

I am going to uninstall a dialog instance from our IS-U system (NetWeaver 2004sSR1). Our IS-U system is a cluster system running Microsoft Cluster Service. Unfortunately, I received the following errors and I didn’t know what went wrong. Does anyone can help on this?

Hi,

Go to <b>Registry</b>

Navigate to the path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\

SAP<SAPSID>_< Instance number > :

Under <b>ImagePath</b> you can find the Data as

"C:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\SCS00\exe\sapstartsrv.exe" pf="C:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\SYS\profile\START_SCS00_<hostname>"

Delete the Quotes after <b>pf</b> and start your Sapinst again it will work.

Reward points if useful

Hi Srujana,

Thanks a lot. It solved the problem.

Btw, for our system, the image path in the registry was "C:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\ERS81\exe\sapstartsrv.exe" pf="C:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\SYS\profile\START_ERS81_<hostname>"

Hi Siddhesh,

Actually I didn't input anything. I just executed the program "sapinst.exe" and select the 'Uninstall - System / Standalone Engine / Optional Standalone Unit' function from the SAP Installation Master Screen. I expected there should be another screen for me to input the path for Profile Directory, but apparently it didn't show up.

Judging from the log file, the sapinst.exe program got the path name "
cisbp103\sapmnt\BP1\SYS\profile\START_D82_cisbp199" which contains the character '"'.
