HI
I am new to NWDI...I have installed the sap enterprise portal server
Could any one please send me the steps how to install or configure NWDI with this sap enterprise portal server

Hi,
Prerequisites
1. Uninstalling Complete Old WebAS
2. Installing Complete WebAS
3. Deployment of NWDI Components(DTR,CBS AND CMS)
4. Configuring NWDI Components
5. Configuration SLD
Uninstalling Complete WebAS
1. Start sapinst.exe from the remote location:
<machinename>\makeresults\WebAS\630\<codeline>\<weekstone>\opt\SAPINST\NT\I386
[For example
10.53.139.33\makeresults\WebAS\630\630_SP_REL\sikw10\opt\SAPINST\NT\I386 ]
2. Choose Uninstall Developer Workplace under Developer Workplace and choose Next.
3. Choose the installed SAP system ID. Uncheck Uninstall SAP Netweaver Developer Studio (IDE) if you dont want to uninstall the IDE. Choose Next.
4. Select Drop whole Database and choose Next.
5. Select Remove Database Software and choose Next.
6. Click on Start button to start the uninstallation.
7. Check the progress of Uninstallation
8. If window MaxDB > Remove Database Software appears choose OK.
8. Check progress of uninstallation
9. Choose OK when Finished Successfully window appears.
Clean Up Procedure
Note: follow these steps when the uninstallation removes all instances of engine & database along with the whole database. Also IDE folder should be removed when uninstallation of IDE is finished.
Delete the following folders:
1. J2EE engine - C:\usr
2. Database Software - C:\sapdb
3. NW IDE installation - C:\Program Files\SAP\JDT
4. DTR workspace & clients - C:\Documents and Settings\c5057950\.dtr
5. Development Configurations & DCs - C:\Documents and Settings\c5057950\.dtc
6. NW IDE default workspace - C:\Documents and Settings\c5057950\Documents\SAP
7. NW Sapinst Dir C:\Program Files\sapinst_dir
Installing Complete WebAS
1. Start sapinst.exe from the remote location:
<machinename>\makeresults\WebAS\630\<codeline>\<weekstone>\opt\SAPINST\NT\I386
[For example
10.53.139.33\makeresults\WebAS\630\630_SP_REL\sikw11\opt\SAPINST\NT\I386 ]
2. Select SAP Netweaver Developer Workplace Installation under Developer Workplace and choose Next.
3. Check Data Volume Size [MB] parameter under Installation Parameter and choose Next.
4. Change the value of Data Volume Size [MB] to 1000 (old value 400) and choose Next.
5. Choose Next when window Java System > Default Values appears.
6. Enter Java System Master Password and choose Next.
[This Java System Master Password will be used in J2EE Useradmin, J2EE Visual Admin Tool and Service Deployment Manager (SDM) also.]
7. Under MaxDB > Autoextend Feature choose Next.
[The Enable MaxDB Autoextend is checked]
8. Choose Start to start the installation.
9. If a message box for post processing steps appears choose OK to continue installation
10. Choose OK when Finished Successfully window appears.
This completes the full installation of WebAS (MaxDB + J2EE Engine + NW IDE)
Deployment of NWDI Components
1. Start SAP Management Console and check whether J2EE engine is running.
2. Start the Visual Admin tool. And login using the J2EE administrator password.
[Available as RemoteGui.bat at C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\SDM\program. Here J2E\JC00 are instance specific]
3. After login the following screen will appear.
4. Select Deployment tab.
5. Enter the location of JDI directory (same version as of J2EE engine). And click on choose. [Example
10.53.139.33\makeresults\WebAS\630\630_SP_REL\sikw11\opt\J2EE-CD\JDI ]
6. Two folders offline and online will appear. These folders contain NWDI components. Select one of the SCAs in the folder offline and click on choose.
6. All 3 selected component will be visible. Click on Next to continue the deployment.
7. Click on Next to continue the deployment.
8. Click on Start to continue the deployment. When asked for SDM to take control click on Yes.
8. Monitor the Overall Deployment Progress.
8. Click Confirm to finish the deployment.
9. Select Shutdown and Exit from the toolbar.
9. Press any key on console to close it.
Configuring NWDI Server
1. Start the Database Manager
2. Double click on Servers button, click on add button and add the Database engine [Example J2E] to be configured. Click on OK
3. Right Click the Database instance and in the context menu select connect
4. Enter username = control & password = control. Click on OK
5. Select Parameters from the Configuration tab.
6. Double click CACHE_SIZE from the Configuration Parameters list to change its value.
7. Change the CACHE_SIZE to 32768 (for 1GB RAM machine) or 65536 (for 2GB RAM machine) from the Configuration Parameters list to change its value.
7. Similarly change the value of MAXLOCKS to 300000 from default 4080.
[You have just configured the database parameters for DTR]
7. Now to configure the CBS Server start the Visual Admin tool (go.bat) located at
C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\admin [Here the location is J2EE instance specific]
7. Connect using the J2EE administrator password [Example: admin]
8. Select the Component Build Service from the Services node of the Server.

8. Change the following properties of CBS Server.
a) BUILD_TOOL_JDK_HOME: C:\j2sdk1.4.2_06 [Java home Directory]
b) JDK_HOME_PATHS: JDK1.4.2_HOME = C:\j2sdk1.4.2_06 [Java home Directory]
c) idleStart = false
Save the changes. When asked for restart of server click on Yes.
8. Select the JDBC Connector from the Services node of the Server.
8. Change the value of sysDS.maximumConnections to 50 from 10.
8. Save the changes made. When asked for Server restart Click on OK.
SLD (System landscape directory) setup and configuration
1. Open the SLD home page http ://< localhost> :< port>/sld. Provide Username: Administrator and password: admin (or the J2ee master password entered during installations).
2. Click on Administration link.
3. In the Administration page click on Server Settings.
4. Enter the Object Server as the <Machine Name> on which SLD is installed and click on Set.
5. Check the message Server parameters set.
6. Click on Start Server to start the SLD Server.
7. Click on Start Server to start the SLD Server. The status will be changed to Running.
8. Click on Home link to enter SLD Home. Click on Technical Landscape link under Landscape.
9. Select Web AS Java and click on New Technical Landscape button.
10. Technical System Wizard will appear. Select Web AS Java and click on Next button.
11. Enter the following configuration for Technical System and click on Finish.
Web AS ABAP: None (Standalone J2EE)
System Name (SID): J2E
System Home: <Machine Name>
12. Choose System Landscape Directory as the Technical System Type and click on New Technical System.
13. Select System Landscape Directory as the Technical System Type and click on Next.
14. Enter the following configuration for Technical System and click on Finish.
Web AS Java: <instance name> on <machine name>
Roles: Landscape Server & Name Server both selected.
CIM Server URL: http://<Machine Name>:<port>/sld/cimom
Object Server: <Machine Name>
15. Click on Import link available under Administration > Content.
16. Click on Import CR Content from Server link.
17. The import of CIM models will start.
18. When you see the message Import finished: All <number> objects loaded, SLD is ready for use.
