how system will determine movement types

hi genius

my question is how system will determine so and so stock belongs to certain categroy . like how it will find unrestricted stock, blocked stock , can any one know about this.

is there any link that this movement type will work only with this document type.

how do system will find?

yes there is a link between document type and item category. in tcode VOV4 we will link item category to the sales document type and in vov5 this item category is linked to the schedule line category and in schedule line category we will maintain movement type.

in this way movement types r behaving.

The movement types are decided based on the schedule line on teh SD side.

Movement types are also determined based on the tcodes for which a particular movement type is allowed in OMJJ

Hi Nageshwar,

While doing goods receipt in the transaction MIGO(Where tab),you can specify whether you want to do goods receipt in the unrestricted,blocked,quality inspection category.

Once the material document is posted then you can check the status of that stock in MMBE.
