Version Control in XI

Hi,

I do know that all configuration and development objects can be transported using files in XI production.

Is there any version management being tracked on by the system just like and abap?

Hi Anandha,

XI gives the history of all the design and configuration objects.

For ex: if you want to see the history of message mapping, open the mapping, go to message mapping, select history option. This displays all the previous versions of the mapping. You can open any of the previous versions and compare the changes. Same way you can see the history for other objects also.

Well,sort of.

When u do a transport in abap you can always keep track of previous versions and can adapt it.

If i do a transport from xi dev to xi qa, am doing for the second time the same objects from xi dev to xi qa, how do u keep track of all my transports.

Hi Anandha,

As far as my knowledge goes, when you transport objects from one system to another for the second time, the changes which occur due to these transports are not recorded in the history. But I am not 100% sure.
