Hi,

How are you?

We are trying to access the MDM repository from a Webdynpro to include it in a Guided procedure. Now the challenge we are facing is to access the MDM from Webdynpro and we are trying to use de MDM Java API for this porpouse but I have also read documents that mention something about a JAva Connector, but I´m confused about what do we need to use as a best practice.

Thanx in Advanced!

kind Regards!!!

Hi Hari,

Thanx Alot for the fast response!

What we are trying to use is the MDM Java API and also I have read something about the JCa Conector, the link is helpfull since it shows some uses of the Business Package but in this case the issues we are facing is about the use of the Java API or JCa, the BP is working fine.

Thanx Again!!

Kind Regards,

Gerardo J

Both are acceptable, depending on your application. This has a good explanation of which one works best in specific scenarios. Hope it helps!

Hi Sarah,

Really help ful link! I see that they talk about the JCA connector but I don´t know if it is still used, I got the Recommendation to use MDM API 5.5 SP5 cause it has some fixes that helps performance, but have not find the JCA anymore just the API even in the MDM Documentation the JCA does not show anymore is that the JCA is now included in the API or it is just not used anymore? or I´m missing something(posibly this is the answer)?:Os

Kind Regards and Thanx alot for the help, Really apreciate it!

We started out using the old API because it got us what we wanted, however, because of lack of documentation (since it is being deprecated), we have switched to the new API. We have SP4 but will be upgrading today to SP5 to get some updates that are needed. I would recommend using the new API.

Hi Nisha,

Thanx Alot for the Link! in this case we are using Webdynpro but the problem we are facing is how to implement the MDM Java API or JCA with Webdynpro, the link you sent me is helpful to get into Webdynpro but the issue on this moment is how to use the MDM API or JCA(if still recomended) with Webdynpro.

Kind Regards and Thanx Again!
