XIAdapterFramework vs XIAdapterEngine

Hi all, I would like to know:

1. What's the difference between these 2 classes

2. I followed the note 764176, however:

In my SLD --> Technical System, view Exchange Infrastructure type, I could only see an entry for XI Adapter Framework, not XI Adapter Engine. Is that a correct entry? (In the note, it explicitly indicates that Adapter Engine must be there).

Please help.

Hi Rokie,

yes adapter engine must be there look adapter engine sits on the integration server where xi messages are processed through this here u will have

1)bussiness process engine

2)integration engine .

3)adapter engine.

1)Adapter Engine ...?

is a separate software component that is automatically installed on the Integration Server.

2) ADAPTER-FRAMEWORK....?

it is the basis of the Adapter Engine. The Adapter Framework is based on the SAP J2EE Engine (as part of the SAP Web Application Server) and the J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA). The Adapter Framework provides interfaces for configuration, management, and monitoring of adapters.

The Adapter Framework has its own queuing and logging services. This means that you can run the Adapter Engine temporarily without a connection to the Integration Server.
