Server I5SAP did not accept login request as admin on port 50718

Hi,

We have BI 7.0 running on ISeries on a dual stack.

When we are trying to apply Support Stack through JSPM we are getting an error.

The JSPM is able to connect to server and when the password is supplied it does not take it.

I have tested the password by loggin into the system as j2ee_admin and the password is correct.

There is no VPN in between the remote host and the Server.

I did applied java stack on another SAP System which is physicall running on the same system with another system no.

The system from where I am connecting to the server does have the host entry of the server. (As per NOTE 783965)

The server is on i5sap.bobjane.com.au and host file carries this entry.

I did try connecting to server as I5SAP.bobjane.com.au / I5SAP/ ipaddress but nothing worked.

I am unsure about the what could be the problem.

Appreciate any suggestion.

Thanks & Regards

Mrutyunjay

  • * 50510 000:21:20 Listen

  • * 50513 001:20:43 Listen

  • * 50517 000:21:23 Listen

  • * 50518 000:21:21 Listen

  • * 50707 000:59:36 Listen

  • * 50708 001:00:34 Listen

  • * 50709 001:00:28 Listen

  • * 50710 001:00:29 Listen

  • * 50713 001:20:44 Listen

  • * 50720 001:00:52 Listen

  • * 50813 001:20:44 Listen

  • * 52013 001:20:41 Listen

  • * 52113 001:20:41 Listen

From here it is evident that , it is not authorization or connection problem but the service is missing in the instance itself..

You can see 50717, 50718 missing in BIP instacne where as 50517,505718 available in BIQ instance.

Appriciate any help.

Thanks & Regards

This is due to missing SDM service.

The SDM was in detached mode..

When changed to run in integrated the service came up.

Hi Mrutunjay Rao,

Can you please tell me how to find what is the mode for SDM?

Thank you && Regards

If SDM is not set in integrated mode there will be no service running at 5<Sys No>18 port .... this can be verified by the following simple command

Telnet host 5<sys.no>18 and if you get connected there is service.. and in I5 there is a command to see the services running .. I am not able to recollect the command now..

You should be able to find Text such as the following in SDM:

SDM is currently detached from JStartupFramework. Forward this information to the JStartupFramework (disable SDM process).

This means that SDM is currently in what is called standalone mode.

To set SDM mode to integrated (if SDM has been in it), use the steps:

1.Open a console to the system.

2.Go to /usr/sap/<SID>/<INSTANCE_ID>/SDM/program

3.Run

sdm.bat jstartup "mode=integrated" (for Windows)

./sdm.sh jstartup mode=integrated (for UNIX)

Hi Maruti,

a very simple way to check if the SDM is in integrated mode and thus started automatically is to check if there is a process called SDM in the R3_<instance number> subsystem of the instance (where you also see SERVER0). If it is there then you are running the SDM in the integrated mode.
