after completion of the delivery ,i am trying to do the billing with the delivery document number. but system is saying (The system could not read delivery 80016003 from the database or retrieve it from the archive.)

Using the tcode FTWB, You can retrieve the archieved documents.

Can you check VL22 transaction for delivery archive.
You can get who has deleted that delivery through this transaction.

for your clarification nobody is deleting the document system it self archive the document
Then check exits for delivery...there should be some customization.
