General HTTP Adapter Question

Is it possible to send a HTTP GET Request with the HTTP Adapter?

I have following Szenario:

I have a flat file at http://www.test.com/test/test.dat

can i use the Http Adapter to read this file ?

If not, any other idea how i can handle this ?

I do not think you can use GET with HTTP. I remember someone else asked the same kind of question but could not find it.
