Install IDES

Hi,

I have install Virtual PC for windows server 2003.

I need to install IDES.

This is my first time and now I am confused how to install the IDES.

What is the first step that i have to do?

Do i need to install ms sql first?

Please kindly assist.

Hi,

download the installation document from service.sap.com/instguides

the basic steps for installation is ( For SQL Server)

1) Dump all required cd/dvd on hard disk

2) install j2sdk1.4.2_09 or higher ( j2sdk 1.5 is not supported) set JAVA_HOME and path variable

3) install SQL server as per installation document.

4) install SAP Central system ( CI + DB instance) using master DVD

In my master DVD, there is no file called "Install.exe".

What kind of file that I should execute??

Hi,

if you install ECC 6.0 ides on windows 2003 32 bit than run following.

master_DVD\IM_WINDOWS_I386\sapinst.exe

if you install on sql server databse takes around 170 GB HDD Space,

if you insatll on Oracle database takes around 220 GB HDD Space

perform Unicode installation only for IDES ECC 6.0

I also lost in service.sap.com/instguides.

Cannot find file with title SAP IDES.

Hi,

there is no specific guide for SAP IDES installation on service.sap.com.

installation is same as ECC 6.0

use ERP2005 installation of ABAP on Windows and corresponding database,

Go to: https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/swdc > Ordering SAP-Software > SAP IDES > SAP R/3 Enterprise - SAP ERP > SAP ERP IDES > SAP ERP 2005

You need an S-account (provided by you're company) and the autorization to order software.

You can also download the installation cd's , but it will be a lot of cd's!! (still need an S-account)

Go to: https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/swdc --> downloads --> SAP installations and upgrades --> Entry by application group ->

SAP Application Components --> SAP ERP --> SAP ERP 2005 --> IDES version --> OS --> DB
