SAP Content Server Size Limitations

Hi,

Has SAP Content Server any limitations regarding the amount of information to be stored ?.

We have a 160 Gb/ year data to be stored and we doubt to use the SAP content Server or some other content server ( IXOS, Documetum ... ).

Best Regards,

Francisco.

Hi Francisco,

In general the maximum limit for file size is around 2GB but there are

also some exceptions such as defined profile parameters, where the limi

could be smaller.

Due to the information which I recieved from my colleague in the KPRO

area documents with file size around 300MB up to 2GB shouldn't be a problem to

check in. I'm sorry that I can't provide you another reply on your

question but the ckeck in of a 4GB file into the KPRO is not possible.

Best regards,

Christoph

Hi, Christoph.

My doubt is about the total size of the SAP Content Server DataBase. The SAP Content Server FAQ indicates that maximum database size is 64 terabytes. Do you have experience with so big databases ?

Best regards,

Francisco.

Hi Francisco,

based on some information from our Content Server experts the data size limit depends on how much page file database can manage:

for 8K page file, the limit is 32TB.

for 64k page file, the limit is 256TB

I hope this information is usefull for you.

Best regards,

Christoph

Hi,

I have experience from customers running more than 500GB, with an expected growth of at least a 100GB per year. They have no migration plans, as Content Server and the MAX DB seems more than capable enough.
