there are so many areas in XI. for eg. ...IR,ID,SLD,RWB,IS,BPM blah blah...
anyone please explain.... what is the diffrence between object and component.please explain in words rather giving link...
thanx in advance.
Yes Sam there are number of points in XI to know.
The primary container for development objets in IR is SWCV.
just like that objects component is a small container of data or informations.
So all objects are small small container.
and if you need more then carify your question more.

all are components
XI component are IR,ID,SLD,RWB
and adpater and adapter engine are further components
if you want to know abt XI objects then
Xi objects can be defined in intregration builder
in design part define objects like data type
Then make mesae type another object
Then there mapping another object
interfaces and there mapping. another object
any contest objects etc...
Then in ID we can configure these objects like receiver determinatio, interface determination. sender agreement etc..
All above are objects of ID.
To get a require scenario..
So gathering all objects in a systematic way is scenario.
i think it will clear your query..

Hi sam,
What ever things that you are described above are the XI components. We perform functions to achieve the objectives of XI with the help of XI components. The Major XI Objects are Mapping, Designing and Configuring, also comes with monitoring [trouble shooting]
Remember : We use XI Components to achieve the XI Objects.
Hope this may help you.

hi sam,
1. XI Objects
Integration Repository objects are referred to as design objects and Integration Directory objects are referred to as configuration objects. Together, they are referred to as XI objects.
2. About XI Components you already know very well.

hey sam,
components of xi are what xi is made of... like ir, id , rwb, sld, AE...these components sit on abap or java stack.
"objects" in xi is what "you develope" to send/receive msg in xi like data types, msg types, mappings etc.
plz refer help.sap. everything is documented pretty well over there.
