.dgn files & integrated viewer

Hello,

I'm just struggling in trying to install a viewer for our dgn files ... It seems the integrated SAP viewer doesn't work (confirmed in note 545452) ... Any clue ?

Thanks for your accurate explanation on uninstallation procedure, Christoph : it really helped.

Unfortunately, ECL Viewer 6.0 stille doesn't work for my .dgn file at least ... I'm currently trying to download Bentley View & will check it works.

The pb is that from what I understand (Note 1086427 - File formats supported by ECL Viewer 6.0 ), DGN files should now be supported !

I followed Note 1083901 - ECL Viewer 6.0 procedure & couldn't make it nevertheless ....

How can I make sure I'm using ECL 6.0 for viewing ?

The note also recommends to uninstall previous versions of ECL viewers before installing 6.0, but I couldn't find how to uninstall (nothing in Win installed programs, ...)

Please help furthermore (thanks so far)

Hi Olivier,

To uninstall the former Viewer version correctly, please search for

WebViewer2d.dll file. If it is present at more than one place then it

means ECL Viewer is installed more than once without uninstalling the

previous version (You can check the folders and should be able to see

all the dll's for ECL Viewer such WebViewer3d.dll/Printing.dll etc to

make sure that there is not only single file but the whole

installation).

In this case:

A) Uninstall the version integrated with SAP GUI by using SAP

Installation scripts. You need to uncheck the 'EAI Viewer' component in

'General Add-on' option.

B) Check add/remove program and if there is an entry like SAP Viewer,

uninstall it.

After this search again, and you should not get WebViewer2d.dll file on

machine. Now reinstall the latest Viewer.

Dear Olivier,

I'm sorry to inform you that the ECL Viewer is not supporting this file format. Also the latest version 6 is not able to handle this file format. Please see SAP note 1086427 which contains all working file formats within ECL Viewer 6.

As a solution I can only offer you the possibility to use an external DGN Viewer. Therefore you have to maintain the parameter %AUTO% in transaction DC30 for you DGN Workstation application. This parameter will call the external viewer

which is maintained in the Windows folder options for format DGN.

Dear Oliver,

I think the DMS viewer supports only specific files formats like JT,JPEG...
