Lost my SAP instance after changing IP addresses.

After succesfully installing WEB AS 6.4 and running it for a while, I've made some changes in my LAN, changing IP addresses of the machines (from dynamic to fix IP address). This changed the address of the WEB AS server.

Since then, I can't see my SAP instance in the SAP MMC (SAP Management console) so I can't start it anymore.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Hi,

I hope your WAS is abap and not java.

make the necessary change on the DNS server,and also the hosts file on your server.

change the profile files respectively.

This should work.

Thanks for the help. I am sure you are pointing to the right direction, but could you pls give me a few hints on how to change my DNS server? The change on the hosts file should be easy enough.

I too faced the same problem. Since i couldnt find a solution for a couple of days, i had to reinstall everything.
