Dear Mr Raj,

Regarding common division let me try to offer an example:-

A petrol pump offers both petrol and diesel, of different grades and brand names.

There are certain pumps that are located inside cities, that do not have much diesel sales, and so confine themselves to selling petrol.

There are other pumps, located on highways that cater solely to large commercial vehicles, that are run exclusively on diesel.

Both products are supplied from the same depot of a petroleum product refiner.

Vehicles from depots to the pumps, may carry either one or both of the products, concurrently, for delivery at the same or at different pumps, from the point of view of optimally utilising the capacity and similar services of the vehicle.

Both the products are defined as different divisions, within the respective material master.

To cater to such a scenario, the provision of common division is used, where one of the products is used as common division, say petrol for both petrol and diesel.

It practically works as follows:-

A common sales order may be entered for both the products indented together by the same pump.

A common billing document would be generated.

This is as far as convenience of order entry and billing go.

Further, in case of pricing, terms for local levies like octroi can be set up together bringing down the maintenance of pricing conditions.

Trust this serves to illustrate the use of common division for order entry and pricing.

hai common division is

for example you have a material 1 having division 01 produce in plant A and you have material 2 having division 02 produce in plant B

you can create a division 03 having common division with 01 and 02

so that you dont have to create customer for each sales area , you can just create a cuatomer having sales area (ie division 03)

reward if helps

hi,

Define Common Divisions Master Data Tcode: VOR2 -- Sales and Distribution

If you do not need the master data (customer or condition master data) to be

differentiated according to divisions, you have to set up a representative division.

The master data in the representative division applies to all divisions for which you

have set up this reference in Customizing.

By doing this, you can minimize the effort of entering and maintaining master data.

In addition, you can update statistics for divisions without having to create master

data for the various divisions.

The commoin distribution channel & division reduces the master date creation.

I will explain u what we are doing in our project.

our client has domestic sales & export sales

DS-domestic sales & DE-Export sales

we have defined common DC=00

We are creating master data using common distribution channel but when creating sales order we sjhould enter export sales Dist channel C=DE

eg: customer=ABCD will be created in sales area 0001/00/00

0001- sales org / 00=common dist channel / 00=common division

but when sales order creation va01----> we will created in sales area 0001/DE/00

Note:

This is one method of doing. Depends upon client requiremnt it will vary.

eg: You can have two diferent sales org for dosmestic & export in that case

master data will have to be extended & sales order will be created according to exports/ domestic sales org.
