XI Dispatcher Running but Message Server Unreachable

The system I'm having trouble with has WAS 6.4/Win 2003 server/Ora DB 9.2. I have two sap instances in this system, one of them start up fine, but the other one starts up half way. The message server runs, but the dispatcher cannot reach the message server.

I get this in the dev_disp trace:

1 possible network problems detected - check tracefile and adjust DNS settings.

After refreshing DNS server then restarting the instance, the dispatcher works for a while, then it cannot reach the message server again, but after a few minutes, it connects again, just going back and forth in this unstable state.

Is it a problem with DNS configuration? If so, how should I configure DNS? Please give details, thank you.

Hi Timothy,

Please check for any error in dev_ms as well. Also check if you are able to login at other instance for which dispatcher is running fine.
