Hi,

Use the sapgui menu, system --> status.

If you want to check the used kernel, use transaction SM51, select a line and press the "relase info" button.

Hi,

I can see the status of the system, but which software component defines the Netweaver and Version?

Our System:

SAP_ABA 700
SAP_BASIS 700
PI_BASIS 2005_1_700
ST-PI 2005_1_700
SAP_BW 700
SAP_AP 700
SAP_APPL 600
...

And how can I see which WebAS is installed? Is it possible to install mySAP without installing WebAS or Netweaver?

How can I identify if it is possible to develop with JAVA?

Thanks

Michael

Hi,

SAP ERP 6.0 uses NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) (uses the 7.00 Kernel)

SAP ERP 2004 uses NetWeaver 04 (WebAS 6.40)

It is not possible to install SAP ERP 6.0 (formerly mySAP ERP) without installing NetWeaver. You can think of NetWeaver as a framework that you can host business applications on. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

You'd have to have the JAVA runtime environment installed to develop with JAVA in SAP.

Kind Regards,

Chris

HI Michale,

Netweaver is the architecture on which newer versions of SAP

solutions are developed.Netweaver has four layers like

process integration,people integration,platform integration,

information integration. All the SAP products after 2000(not sure) are

based on the Netweaver technology.SAP has added a new application

platform called WEB AS JAVA in this netweaver.

So whenever you use or install SAP Product it will be on the Netweaver

architecture.MOstly in the near future like 2008 or 2009 SAP goes on

with SOA.

Reward points if helpful.

Vamshi.

HI Michael,

Check system status.

Just an additional info to what they have answered.

Please read this Note 967123 - SAP NetWeaver 7.0 / Business Suite 2005 SR2: Windows

You will see all products included in Netweaver 7.0
