Migration Key invalid

Former Member

Hello,

We have a 4.0B system with Oracle 9.2.0.7 on HP-UX 11.0 and we are

planning a migration to the SAP DB 7.4.3.30 and Windows 2003 Server.

For that, I'm doing a test export of the database. I'm currently at the

step of entering a migration key for the export.

I've generated a migration key for our migration at

service.sap.com/migrationkey (as the documentation says), but the

R3SETUP tells me that the migration key is invalid.

Problem is with migration ID. R3SETUP tells me that the migration ID

for me is J9G14KGG8U.

When I generated the migration key on the online formular, I've entered

all the required information, but there is no possibility to enter the

migration ID. After the generation of the key, I've found out that the

migration ID for my key is J9K14KYG8U.

As you can see, there is a small difference. Can someone please let me

know, how can I generate the migration key from the migration ID that

I've got from R3SETUP?

Thank you.

Hi Juraj,

you're surely are <b>not</b> planning to move to SAP DB 7.4 as it's not supported anymore for quite some time.

Go for 7.6.03 instead.

This is a case for a SAP Support message.

Open one and they will help you with that.

Hello SAPPER,

Apply SAP note 496407

or if you can not open this not apply this;

Solution

Check whether the database is running:

- If the database is not running, start it and try again.

- Otherwise there is an installation bug. You have to edit the keydb

file to continue the import, as described below:

- Cancel the installation

- Open the file keydb.xml in your inst. directory for edit.

- Find the table with the name 'SAPINST_INST_STATUS'

- Find in this table the row where the field 'STEPKEY' contains

string: 'MigrationKeyTest' . The value in the field 'STATUS' is

'ERROR'.

All the best,

Johan.
