1. I want to tranfer the data to R/3(non unicodesystem) through XI. is there any impact when we convert into unicode system. Please help me in this regard.

We are on SAP R3 46c which is a non-unicode system. We have hundreds of messages going through from R3 to XI - no issue.
You should be right too.
