ITS 6.20 Client Performance

Hi, I'm new in SAP and ITS. We are using ITS 6.20 standalone version (with the latest patch). We have some client performance issues (some of our clients where forced to change from SAPGUI to WEBGUI) and the client performance is obviously worse. I'm wondering if there is any way to improve the performance. We try to use a lightweight template and improve the page cache in some ways, but there is still room for improvement. Right now we are wondering if there is a way to customize the rendering process (the dynpro to html control conversion process) in SAP. It is possible to customize this process? Also, It is possible to customize in any way the internal ITS client script?

Hi,

1.) make sure that the browser cache is not deactivated especially if you are running HTTPS.

2.) If your users operate in a WAN, setup a proxy server near the office to avoid loading mimes over the WAN

3.) put ITS 6.20 server on a box with enough power. If your backend is Netweaver 2004 or higher make use of integrated ITS which is much faster than ITS 6.20

4.) Set content expiration on your IIS webserver to avoid network traffic when asking for newer versions of mime files like Javascript, CSS, etc.

5.) activate HTTP compression. For webgui is should be activated by default. For other services activate it manually.

6.) use the ITS admin tool to analyse there the performance bottleneck is located SAP backend system or ITS server.
