This is Reetesh, I want to know about Data Manager, what is Data Manager, what is the use and importance!!

If somebody can throw some light and give earlier given presentation link(s)!!

Hi Reetesh,

Data manager is a GUI in which u perform validation,remove duplicates,or u can assign or change values in a field(as per clients requirement).

down load: sap itutor software, then you can open the sim files.( in google you can find it)

follow the link:

in that click on the below link

install a special version of the SAP Tutor Player (EXE file, 2.1 MB)

Hi Reetesh,

Data Manager is basically used to manage the data.

1)You can add, delete ,update, modify the data in Data Manager.

2) You can validate the data in Data manager.

3)You can also find duplicate records and merge the duplicate records.

4) You can use workflows which give the governce mechanism for records.

Thanks Nitu, Srini and Dilimt for your kind and early response, I got it but now I have a different set of questions about Import Manager and how it functions? and after importing data does data goes into Data Manager or data goes to Database and Data Manager work as its interface to manipulate data which is stored in database!!!

hi,

Data Manager:

once we import the data from different sources through import manager, it will stored in the database. We will access that data through the data manager.

in the data manager: we can create new records,merge the duplicates, consolidation, create the layouts and we will publush it.

in data manager we have:

1. Record mode

2. family mode

3. layout mode

4. taxonomy mode

5. Publication mode
