how to add qualifiers in edi field

Hi all,

I have a scenario in which i need to map an idoc to edi.in that i have to add qualifiers in edi field. i don't know how to do that.

can u please help me out.

Hi Nika,

Qualifier values will be provided by the TRADING Partners them selves to u in their GUIDELINES stating that how the EDI document look like it could be ANSI or EDIFACT.you must need to pass qualifier by hard coding Only if it is mentioned mandatory in the guide lines Even if it does not come from IDOC structure.You need not actually worry about Qualifier.Trading partner comes to u regarding the change If any problem comes .

A Qualifier is an element , which qualifies or gives specific meaning to the next element. There will be predifined qualifiers for different elements , they change

depends on situation.Ask for EDI implementation guide lines of the client.

Hi Nika,

The question is still not clear to me.

But If you want to add qualifiers to one of the fields of edi ,i think you'll have to hardcode these qualifier values.

HI,

Refer the below website for qualifier information related to your message.

Usually in the mapping sheet based on the qualifier value which is coming form the IDOC you need to generate the EDI segments.

Check with your functional people who has written the mapping rules in the mapping sheet.

I have to map idoc to edi.but in edi side i have a field as well as segment qualifer and element qualifier.so i dont know how to add these qualifiers in to the EDi field.
