Record option in web dynpro application

Hi experts,

When an application is created. Right click on that application , there is an option <b>Record</b> comming in the menu. Can any body tell, what this option does actually.

I checked it. It generate a testscript file in xml format. Where this file can be excuted.

Can you tell me in detail about this.
